Lighting as a sales strategy in a beauty salon

The architect Francisco González Pulido worked hand in hand with stylists in the search to create a new concept for this type of space.


The stylist Ted Gibson and her husband the colorist Jason Backe commissioned the Mexican architect Francisco González Pulido to design a beauty salon that would transform conventional appointments into an intimate and unique experience for each user. The project took place in Los Angeles, California, in 2019.


Francisco González Pulido is a Mexican architect graduated from Cambridge and founder of the FGP Atelier office in 2017. He has developed projects in Mexico, the United States, and China. Among the most prominent are the Veer Towers, the Alfredo Harp Helú Stadium and the Bangkok International Airport.

Starring by Ted Gibson It is made up of 5 personal capsules isolated from the rest of space, called clouds. Each module allows to create different atmospheres independently through the manipulation of lighting, sound and even entertainment service, since each cloud has a 10-inch tablet.
